Abstract

In this essay, we try to show recurrences of the topic concerning amorous rapture in Francisco de Sá de Miranda (1481-1558), Garcilaso de la Vega (1503-1536), Luís Vaz de Camões (1524-1580), Fray Luís de Léon (1527-1591), Antônio Ferreira (1528-1569) and Diogo Bernardes (1530-1594) poetry. Secondly, we intend to problematize the biographical reading of these kind of verses, considering that the poetic persona results from a sort of commonplaces and various devices selected and arranged by the poets.
