The political uses of the tortoise (in Pepetela) as a claiming element of the memory and history of Angola

This article aims to raise the possibility of a key reading for part of the work of angolan writer Pepetela from the evoction of the tortoise, as an element of Bantu tradition, the bearer of wisdom, but also as animals of the order of turtles just like the tortoise, compared by Walter Benjamin to the flâneur, (specially in Passages and Baudelaire and the modernity).
