Abstract

ABSTRACT

This work analyzes the novel Death with interruptions wich represents the fantastic event: the disapperance of death. The initial euphoria of individuals finding the possibility of immortality is upset at the moment human illness are eternalized, eventually, establishing a conflit between repulse and recognition in relation to the figure of death. The objective of this work is to analyze the manifestations satirical contained in the portuguese novel wich contribues to critical reflection on the finitude individual.

Currently works as assistant professor of Portuguese Literature at the State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho. Has a PhD in Letters ( Literary Theory) from the University of Coimbra, obtained the title of Master and Doctor of Letters (Literary Theory and Comparative Literature) from the University of São Paulo and Graduated in Letters from the State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho.
