This article discusses the 2001 samba-enredo by GRES Beija-Flor de Nilópolis. They presented the plot A Saga de Agotime, Maria Mineira Naê: An enslaved African queen who would have as its destiny to rediscover her people and perpetuate her beliefs in Brazil. As consequence, we reflect the resizing of the epic, considering its composition for a carnival parade and the narration of a black heroine. At the end, we present the relevance of it by telling the resignification of Brazilian colonialist history. The methodology is based on bibliographical research, based mainly on Caretta (2013), Souza (2018) and Hansen (2008).
