Translation of the short story “La zanja”, by Roxana Popelka

Abstract

This text presents the translation of the short story La Zanja, originally published in Spanish, by Roxana Popelka, a Spanish writer who has published several short stories and novels, but has none of her works translated into Portuguese. This translation intends, firstly, to make known in Portuguese the work of this contemporary author of substantial and qualified literary production. Likewise, it aims to collaborate with a movement that seeks to give visibility to works produced by women, with a view to making them more translated. La Zanja problematizes issues such as identity, sexuality, family relationships and a sense of belonging.
