Literary reading in high school
reflecting on the literature of female authorship from the short story A escrava, by Maria Firmina dos Reis
Abstract
This article aims to reflect on the importance of teaching literature in high school. Therefore, we seek to discuss the relevance of working with female literary texts that were made invisible by the literary canon, and to make considerations about how these texts can be discussed in the classroom from the analysis of the short story A Escrava, by Maria Firmina dos kings. This research is of a bibliographic nature, with a textual interpretation approach, referring to the inductive method. As a theoretical and critical basis, we used studies by Pinheiro (2014), Almeida (2014), Cosson (2014), Schmidt (2008), among others.
